Become an Accredited Family Group Conferencing Facilitator

Family Group Conferencing is an important tool in the Safe Home For Life reforms which can empower families to be more involved in decision making for their children at risk and to assist with early identification of suitable pathways through the out of home care system for the child or young person and their families. The FGC process requires impartial facilitators who have a thorough understanding of the process, their own responsibility under legislation and who have excellent communication skills.

As the 2015 NSW Election approaches, ACWA is calling on the state’s political parties to support the ongoing progress of crucial child protection reforms generated by the Wood Inquiry.

Training for Residential Care Workers

In 2015 CCWT launched new training particularly focused on residential care workers. Two qualifications which include elective groups on residential care are now available. The are the CHC40313 Certificate IV in Child Youth and Family Intervention and the CHC50313 Diploma of Child Youth and Family Intervention. (Perhaps the titles could link directly to the pages about these qualifications). These are available through a mix on distance packages and face to face workshops, and recognition of prior learning (RPL) Is available for experienced workers. 

2015 RGF Conference a Great Success!

This week's NSW Problem Gambling Counsellor’s Conference, coordinated by ACWA/CCWT and funded by the Responsible Gambling Fund (RGF), has again received enthusiastic accolades from conference delegates, presenters and the Office of Liquor, Gaming & Racing.
